Born in
Beirut in 1961, KAMEL ABBOUD studied architecture at the
“Académie Libanaise des Beaux Arts” (ALBA), where he ranked
first at his graduation in 1986. In 1987, he moved to Paris, France,
where he got a postgraduate diploma (DEA) in “Architecture &
Animation of Socio-Cultural Equipments”.
He worked in Paris as
architect in charge in several architectural firms for seven years. In
1994, back to Beirut, he worked for three years, as associate architect
in “Architectural Design Unit, Basile, Homsi & Associates”.
In 1997, he established “AK-Architects”, an independent architectural
firm based in Beirut. Since then, he also teaches Architecture
at the Balamand University (ALBA) graduate school.
